Health is the overall condition of a human being in relation to his or her whole aspect. As an inhabitant of this vast body of land we inherited the different major aspects of life. These are the physical, biological, spiritual, social, and psychological. Having a good health condition is a requirement for each person in order for him or her to sustain life. Our body is a special gift from God, and we should take good care of it.
How can we differentiate a healthy person from those who are unhealthy? Healthy individual has the tendency to grow faster than the unhealthy person. Remember that if you have a poor health status it will slow down your growth and development process. Some said that a healthy individual may also be cheerful, learns to be considerate, and know how to get along with others. How can we sustain a good health status? First, we need to eat a well balanced diet every day. This is an important practice to keep our body healthy and good looking. Second, we must have the enough rest and sleep to revitalize the muscles of our body. The most common element that counteracts the body’s relaxation is stress. You should have a good time management to minimize our exposure to stress. Daily stress can never be totally prevented. It has become a part of our everyday life.
Another way to keep our body healthy is to drink plenty of water and fresh juices. This is to replenish the good flow of fluid in our body. The ideal fluid intake per day is at least eight glasses of water, which is equivalent to 1.9 liters of fluid daily. Drinking fresh juices is also a good health habit since this can supply our body with the essential nutrients and minerals that were source out from different fruits in our environment. Exercise is another good health habit that will sustain a good health status. This activity will help energized and stimulate our body to function fully throughout life. As we all know there are a lot of exercises that are indicated for different health problems. These health problems include hypertension, diabetes, and other circulatory problems. Another method of sustaining a good and healthy life is by visiting your doctor and dentist at least twice a year. This is for your health check up. In this manner, you will be aided with the doctor’s teachings in order to maintain a good health. This will benefit you in the way that health problems will be identified and treated earlier rather than suffering it for a long period of time. Keep in mind that hospital costs now a day are increasing.
We all know that we are living in a socialized place where different individuals are everywhere. We cannot immediately identify who is sick or not. Avoiding close contact with people who has contagious diseases will help decrease your risk of acquiring bad health conditions. Another method to prevent contaminating yourself from an individual with a contagious disease is by abstaining from borrowing personal belongings. Did you know that some diseases can be passed from one person to another through an object which is medically termed as fomites? These disease carriers include handkerchief, towels, toothbrush, utensils, and other personal stuffs. To achieve good health we also need to take good care of our environment. Specifically, we must make our surroundings clean and green. To achieve such a goal, we must dispose our garbage properly. Remember that biodegradable wastes can be buried under the soil. This will eventually transform into a fertilizer and can benefit the plants and trees. We must know how to clean dumped garbage because this can easily attract mosquitoes, which may cause other health problems like dengue and malaria.
For a wider approach towards maintaining a clean environment, we must support campaigns against smoke belching. We all know that air pollution is due to smoke belching and burning of garbage. In this case polluted air can still trigger different health problems, especially respiratory problems. In addition, we must know how to clean our surroundings every day. This is a healthy activity that promotes a clean place for a better living. Our living place reflects who we are. This implies that we are liable to the kind of place we are living today and tomorrow.
